Councillors in Somerset are set to consider where a new sustainable construction project should be developed in the Yeovil area in the near future.

A number of potential destinations are expected to be looked at during this process, with South Somerset District Council consulting with organisations including Yeovil Town Council.

Low carbon housing will be a feature of any new development, with the district council''s proposals also including plans for the installation of new waste technologies.

Economic development, planning and transport portfolio holder at the district council Peter Seib has highlighted the large amount of planning that has already gone into the project.

''We will ensure this is a development with excellent transport links, employment, sustainable homes and so on,'' the councillor stated.

Meanwhile, the issue of sustainable construction is also set to be discussed during a seminar that is being held by South Somerset District Council on April 8th.
