A variety of proposals relating to the future development of the country''s renewable energy sector have been put forward by one organisation.
In total, ten potential measures have been recommended by the Renewable Energy Association (REA), with issues such as investment and national planning included in its list of ideas.
The body would like to see a Renewable Heat Incentive scheme made available to the public by this time next year (April 2011).
Meanwhile, it also believes that a bank dedicated to green investment should be created.
The next government will need to take action in order to meet the UK''s future renewable energy targets, according to Gaynor Hartnell, chief executive of the REA.
She stated: ''The new government, of whatever colour, must redouble efforts to deliver the 2020 renewable energy target.
''Meeting that target is essential for plugging the UK''s looming energy gap.''
Those responsible for the production of renewable energy are represented by the REA, which was originally set up nine years ago.
