Renewable energy grants ''attractive to consumers''

Many of the financial incentives that the government is offering to encourage domestic renewable energy deployment are proving attractive to UK consumers, it has been suggested.

A spokesman from British Eco Energy has pointed out the availability of solar power grants in particular.

He commented: ''The financial incentives available for self generated power provide more assistance now than ever before.''

While noting the benefits of things like energy efficient lighting, he added: ''Solar photovoltaic electricity systems or solar hot water systems are the definitive forms of improving energy efficiency.''

Meanwhile, the spokesman also expressed his belief that the introduction of renewable energy products into the home environment is likely to benefit householders in the long run if they are looking to improve their energy efficiency.

His comments come after the Conservative Party recently announced proposals to offer further financial support to homeowners looking to go green in the future.
