Proposals to develop a renewable site near to Fakenham have been unveiled by the energy firms RES.

It is hoped that the wind farm project, which would make use of six turbines, would be positioned between parts of the country including Stanhoe and South Creake.

Simon Peltenburg, of RES, has noted that years of research have gone into his company''s plans for the proposed Jack''s Lane Wind Farm site.

''If the UK is to increase the security of our energy supply and meet its objectives for producing energy from renewable sources and cutting CO2 emissions, we need projects such as this,'' Mr Peltenburg, the project manager of the planned development, stated.

The public will be consulted on the RES proposals in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the UK''s offshore wind power sector might also benefit from a memorandum of understanding that has recently been signed by government ministers and Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe.
