A growing number of councils are looking to roll out solar panel schemes in their areas, it has been reported.
James Folks, writing for the Fly.co.uk blog, has highlighted the fact that plans have even been proposed to include these in multi-storey car parks and on the top of public buildings.
He cited the example of Hull City Council, which is planning to put solar panels on four car parks in the area in order to save money.
Dave Woods, the councillor with the environment portfolio for the local authority, claimed that talks have been held about capitalisation on the ''green revolution''.
He said that the council has been looking for a way to create more renewable energy, as this would also allow them to sell on any surplus.
Earlier this month, the BBC reported Ofgem figures that showed a record rise in the number of UK homes installing PV solar panels.
