The country''s non-domestic buildings will need to see more green building products like ground source heat pumps introduced in the coming years, according to one organisation.

A recent report from the Carbon Trust has looked at some of the ways in which the UK''s non-domestic properties should be enhanced in the near future, in a bid to cut carbon emissions.

In order to improve the sustainability of the sector, the trust now believes that the likes of heat pumps and triple-glazed windows will have to be adopted from the year 2020.

Meanwhile, between now and that year, the organisation would like to see the emphasis placed on the reduction of light and heat energy consumption.

It has also recently been announced that the trust is to provide farmers with interest-free loans from February of 2010, which could help them to access the financial support they require to introduce eco-friendly measures like insulation.
