Farm owners looking to make use of green building products like insulation may benefit from the forthcoming launch of a new funding scheme.
While supporting the introduction of insulation in certain crop stores, loans provided by the country''s Carbon Trust will also allow farmers to reduce their carbon footprints through the adoption of more effective technology.
The trust''s chief executive Tom Delay noted that the competiveness of farm owners may additionally be developed through the loan scheme.
''By reducing costs and associated carbon emissions in this way, goods will also be more appealing to the rising tide of carbon conscious shoppers,'' he said.
The new interest-free funding initiative, which will begin in February, was revealed by Hilary Benn, the government''s environment secretary.
