The National Trust in Wales has completed the installation of its biggest solar PV panel array to date at a Grade One listed building, which it says will see it generate much of the power it requires for its day-to-day operations.
According to Wales Online, the installation atop the villa, which was originally built in 1790, should see it generate up to half of the electricity it needs on a daily basis.
The trust plans to reduce its carbon footprint by 50 per cent over the next few years, and has said that this installation will be a significant step towards it being able to do so.
Panels were advised against being installed on the floor near the property because it may reduce the aesthetic appeal of the building.
This was a problem recently seen in Wales when a solar farm had to face stiff opposition from people who said it would damage the look of the countryside.
