Homeowners ''keen to learn more'' about PV solar panels

Many people are keen to find out more about renewable energy products like photovoltaic solar panels, an expert notes.

Whatgreenhome.com''s founder Gordon Miller has discussed his own local experiences of speaking to householders about sustainable issues.

He believes that consumers do appear to have a good level of interest when it comes to ''how they can save money'' and ''how they can bring renewable technologies to the house - solar energy and PV panels, things like this''.

Meanwhile, Mr Miller also suggests that the upfront costs of renewable devices might be addressed through green funding schemes, if they are introduced effectively.

Eco-friendly retrofitting could prove a very useful step in lowering the country''s carbon emissions, he feels.

The importance of retrofitting was also recently highlighted by the Existing Homes Alliance.

Last month, the group published a manifesto which called for a number of commitments to be made by the government in this area.
