Energy efficient homes favourable with home buyers

People looking to make changes to their homes to improve their value could make good use of solar thermal panels, as energy saving changes can be vitally important to those looking to purchase a new property.

According to one property expert, the fact that a home is green, or environmentally friendly, is now becoming more important, as the average Brit looks to save money on their heating bills.

Solar thermal panels can be ideal for this as they provide heating from the sun's energy as opposed to just electricity, which is generated from solar PV awards.

Graham Lock, director and co-founder of housenetwork.co.uk, said: "The more energy-efficient the better - as saving on heating bills will be a major plus for buyers."

Heating is a key issue for many people across the UK, after it was reported by uSwitch that somewhere in the region of 75 per cent of people in the UK have had to go without heating at some point over the past winter because of cost.
