The government should broaden its focus to enable more of the country''s domestic properties to benefit from green retrofitting, according to one expert.
In recent weeks, ministers have aimed to offer homeowners support to install things like insulation and PV solar panels with the help of various schemes.
Nevertheless, WWF-UK''s sustainable homes policy officer Zoe Leader believes that the issue of whole house retrofitting is one that needs to be seriously addressed.
''This is where the real financial and carbon savings can be made, and with the right plan of action, such a scheme could create over 100,000 new jobs per year,'' she stated.
Ms Leader recently noted that whole house retrofitting is currently something that eight million of the country''s domestic properties require.
Earlier this month, Whatgreenhome.com''s founder Gordon Miller has recently suggested that a number of homeowners seem to be interested in products like PV solar panels.
